**Limited availability** Our 1/2 day Afternoon Figure 8 Pools Hike allows for those looking for a tour in Sydney with a later start, wanting a sleep in or to experience just the Figure 8 Pools instead of the full day tour.
Experience the natural beauty of the Royal National Park and the Figure 8 Pools with jaw dropping mountain views, rolling hills, aqua colour water, native animals and wildlife, unique coastal shacks – you will be overwhelmed with an abundant supply of epic photos! Hike into the Royal National Park and down to the Figure 8 Pools. Cool off and swim in the rock pools, grab your Figure 8 Pools insta-photo or explore the beautiful surrounding area. After spending time to explore at the pools we’ll hike back up the mountain where you can relax on the bus ride back to Sydney.
As a proud Eco-Certified Tour Operator, our adventure guides clean up rubbish on the hike back and we encourage our guests to help in our effort to keep our National Parks Clean.

What to Bring
- 3 Litres of water, snacks/food
- Towel, sunscreen, wear your swimsuit under your clothes if you plan to swim
- Closed in shoes for hiking, trainers are good, no sandals/flip flops

1 Pick up/drop off location: 812 George Street, Haymarket. 7-minute walk from Central Train Station
Pickup Time: 11:30am Drop off: around 6:30pm
Due to the nature of our activities, hike and fitness level we find we are best suited to ages 15-59 yrs. If over 60 yrs we recommend that you are fit and have a HIGH fitness level. Kids must be aged 12 yrs and up and with a parent/guardian.
Other Safety Info
Barefoot Downunder guides carry an extensive remote wilderness pack which includes a First Aid Kit, defibrillator, E-pirb, Satellite Phone, Oxygen mask and other medical misc goods in case of any emergencies. All guides are trained and have their First Aid CPR Certificates up to date.
All Figure 8 Pools Hikes require a medium-high fitness level and the track we take involves hiking down and back up a steep track, uneven surfaces, rock hopping over two headlands (balance is required), and suited to the fit and active person. The hike itself is around 3 hours total return time. The climb back up is 215m or 700ft and 6km or 4mi hike return. Our guides have the right to not allow you on tour if you do not have the right fitness level.
Our trips are only available during the low-tide times, however if the Figure 8 Pools are not safe to visit on the day due to other dangerous ocean conditions then an alternative activity may be offered or the trip will be cancelled.
